Obsidian Dome

Hiking Around Mammoth Lakes, CA

Hike into (1-mile round trip), on top of (about 2.5 miles round trip) or around (6+ mile loop) this dome of Volcanic glass Obsidian. We chose to reach the high point, following the standard trail into the dome, then off trail heading SE for the high point. It was "family" hike but was a tough one for the 5 year olds.

Easy to just the internal of the crater but difficult to the high point
