About

OUR INSPIRATION

We began filming our hikes and climbs a few years back for fun - our friends and family found them to be valuable resources for their own hiking ambitions. On a particularly long slog and bushwhack in the Sierras we came up with the idea of creating a website as a portal for the video testimonies. We have used a number of other resources over the years to gather pre-hike beta including maps, GPS tracks and detailed trail descriptions. Some of our favorites are Modernhiker.com and peakbagger.com. We are hoping that with TheEarthBeneathYourFeet.com we add something valuable to the online hiking landscape. Get out there and enjoy!!!

ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS

ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS

JASON PAIR

Jason is a lowlander from Los Angeles who has loved the outdoors his entire life. Introduced to the Sierras on family trips, he found himself drawn to the far peaks and passes of the High Sierra. Traveling with family and friends, he seeks out hikes to explore the natural wonders of the world. Whether in his backyard on a sunrise hike in the Santa Monica Mountains or on an island in the Philippine Sea, Jason is constantly seeking out adventure and inspiring vistas.

JOHN SHEEHE

An East-Coast native, John was introduced to hiking in the late ‘90s by his brother-in-law on an outing in the high Sierra Nevada. Despite committing myriad newbie mistakes on his maiden outing, he came away with an unshakable love of hiking. Local hikes with friends and family blossomed into a peakbagging habit encompassing state high points, local hills, and Lower/Hundred/Sierra Peaks section mountains. Those who know him would attest John embodies John Muir’s quote, “The mountains are calling and I must go.”

DONOVAN PAIR

When not competitive rock climbing, Donovan graciously slows down to bag peaks with Jason and John, often leading the charge up exposed ridges. He has also contributed his artistic skills to the logo for TheEarthBeneathYourFeet.com. While no minor bump is off-limits, he personally loves the highest peaks of the Sierra Nevada.
