Calabasas Peak and Red Rock Peak

A 4-mile adventure- 1.6 miles up to Calabasas Peak from the trailhead off Stunt Road - this is an easy ascent on a fire road - just below the summit take use trails and scrambles over sandstone ridges to Red Rock Peak, arriving at 2.6 miles.  Then short cut back to the fire road along one of the sandstone spines for a 4.0 mile hike.  It's a great family hike to Calabasas Peak and back but I would leave the younger kids at home if you want to bag Red Rock Peak as well.

    Easy to Calabasas, then moderate when combined with Red Rock Peak

    Beautiful views along the Santa Monica Mountains and the off-trail hiking to Red Rock Peak and back down along ridges of sandstone is very esthetic.
