White Face Mountain

Hiking Whiteface Mountain and McCoy Mountain in Simi Valley

The White Face Cliffs are visible from miles around Simi Valley. It’s a fun winter hike up to the plateau summit above the White Face Cliffs (very exposed so would be rough in the summer heat).   Begin at Big Sky Dog Park, pick up the trail to the ridge between the lower dog park and the large water tank.  Once on the ridge the route finding is straightforward, but a bit treacherous with lots of steep, loose dirt slopes.  This was done by my 5-year-old twins, but not without very close supervision.  Once on the plateau the route is gradual up to the summit area.  There is a nice swing someone set up in an oak tree near the top.  Spectacular views.
