Hiked "down" from La Cumbre Peak - the "trail" is steep and rocky - started out as a family hike, but after about 0.4 miles, there were only 2 of us left. The 6 year olds could have kept going, but it would have been a LONG day. Ultimately it's only a bit over 2.0 miles round trip, but you drop 1,000 ft., before ascending 300 ft. to the summit, and then, of course, the steep ascent back to the trailhead.
