6.4 mile out and back hike to the high point of Antelope Island State Park in Utah. Began the hike in the early AM as the park opened (at 6a) and was welcomed by a gorgeous sunrise. As I drove to the trailhead, multiple buffalo were walking on the side of the road. Several weeks later, buffalo went after some hikers (I was lucky and avoided them.) The clouds which provided a great sunrise also provided some welcome cover during the hike (there is little to no shade.) At the top there were grand views of the Great Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains. I did this hike in the summer but would suggest early spring or early/late fall.
