Grays Peak

Grays Peak - Near Big Bear

The second peak of the day in the Big Bear area. The main trailhead was closed due to eagle nesting so took an alternate approach off forest road 2N13. First mile or so of the hike is ho hum but gets better once the uphill begins. If I had the time it would have been nice to climb some rocks in the area. Got to the top and, though somewhat obscured by trees, enjoyed the view and the solitude. Winds and clouds were blowing in from a storm below the mountain (which I drove through on the way home).
