Hike to Horse Benchmark, Utopia Lookout and Peak 1896

Fun hikes around Placerita Canyon. Horse Benchmark in Golden Valley Ranch Open Space, Utopia Lookout off Sand Canyon at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and Peak 1896 behind the Visitor Center at Placerita Canyon State Park.  Horse Benchmark is a nice meandering hike through the Placerita Hills - was happy for the cloud cover because it would be a bear if fully exposed on a cloudless day.
