Climbing Independence Peak

Dayhike out of Onion Valley - very accessible SPS Peak with some fun Class III ridge climbing at the top - spectacular views.  Less than 4 mile round trip.   The route in this video is the West Face and leaves the Robinson Lake trail to head up cross-country.

  • Difficulty:

    Moderate - there is some route finding up the West Face and then some Class III moves along the ridge near the summit - very fun

  • Aesthetic Rating:

    The views looking toward University Peak are so mice

    4 miles round trip with 3,500 ft. of elevation change
