Loop hike of Owens Peak & Mt. Jenkins

Loop hike of Owens Peak & Mt. Jenkins

Approximately a 10 mile loop hike up Owens Peak, cross country to the PCT, south on the PCT to the ridge up to North Jenkins. Then we attempted to traverse the ridge to Mt. Jenkins - aborted once we ran into some formidable Class V terrain - back to the saddle between North Jenkins and the ridge, down-climbed to below the talus coming off the ridge, then traversed sandy slopes to the normal ascent ridge to Mt. Jenkins. Cross country back to the Owens Peak TH - total of about 8 hours.
