Mt. Corcoran via Tuttle Creek

Mt. Corcoran via Tuttle Canyon

The hike up Tuttle Creek drainage past the Ashram temple is an adventure itself.  Then Secor describes the remainder of the climb through the North Notch: From 11,200 feet on the south fork of Tuttle Creek, climb slabs leading to a canyon to the Northwest.  Stay high and well to the north to avoid talus, and move into the northernmost of two basins at the head of the canyon.  Climb the broad , left-hand chute leading to the North Notch, located between Mt. LeConte and Mt. Corcoran.  Just below the crest, turn to the south (left) and climb a short pitch with a small chockstone to the top of the crest.  Traverse south 150 feet on ledges on the west side of the crest, and climb a chute leading to the summit.  To note in our video - the chockstone was still under snow.
