Mt. Emma

Hiking Mt. Emma

2.0 mile round trip hike with 1,100 ft of elevation gain. The trail starts out from Mt. Emma Road with some easy switchbacks, before you reach the ridge, which has basically recently been bulldozed into a fire break that extends straight up the ridge and onto the summit plateau. Thank goodness the views from the summit are sublime enough to distract from the denuded summit.
  • Trailhead:

2 miles north of the junction of Mt. Emma Road and Angeles Crest Highway, you can park at a pull-out at the saddle on Mt. Emma Road.

  • Difficulty:

    Easy

  • Aesthetic Rating:

The trail is unremarkable but the views from the summit make up for it.

  • Distance:

2 miles round trip and 1,100 ft. of elevation gain

  • Type:

    Dayhike
