Trail of a hundred Giants

Hiking the Trail of a Hundred Giants in Sequoia National Forest

What a fantastic walk through the GIANTS; most standing tall, but a few behemoths have fallen to the ground and lay like a beached blue whale. Otherworldly to stand next to these creatures. We arrived midday on a Saturday and decided not to hike with hundreds of our not-closest friends not socially distancing or wearing masks. Instead, we returned at 7am the following day for a meditative walk as the sun began peaking through the forest and the birds and squirrels were our only companions. 1-mile loop hike that can be increased to 2-3 miles.
  • Trailhead:

Across the street from Redwood Meadow Campground at 35.977319, -118.593997.

  • Difficulty:

    Easy

  • Aesthetic Rating:

To be alone at sunrise amongst the trees was meditative - since it's a small area I would imagine that with lots of crowds it would feel different.

  • Distance:

We did a 1 mile loop, but there is opportunity for about 3 miles of trails.

  • Type:

    Dayhike
