Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks - San Gabriel Mountains

A 10.5 mile RT hike in the heart of the San Gabriels. Slept over Friday night to acclimate for the ascent at 7a. After an initial climb, you lose about 800-900 ft of elevation on the way down to Twin Peaks Saddle and then hike back up 1000 or so feet in 3/4 of a mile to the top of Twin Peaks. The descent from Twin Peaks, though steep, was of moderate difficulty but the hike back up was brutal. At one point my heart rate was in the 180s (at least according to Garmin.) Highly recommended hike despite the up-down-up-down-up-down!
