Whitaker Peak

Whitaker Peak and Lookout

This hike, primarily on a fire road, provides nice views of the San Gabriels, the Liebre Range, and multiple peaks I have yet to hike (Cobblestone Mountain being one of them.) I went to the lookout first, or more accurately, where the lookout used to be and after taking in the views walked along the ridge to Whitaker Peak. Clouds, not frequently seen in these parts, gave the sky and surrounding mountains depth and perspective.

Ho hum initially (unless you like the 5 Freeway) but nice views as you ascend to the top of the peak and the former lookout site
